Zaira Wasim is no stranger to headlines. The actress often made news for her acting chops in films like Dangal and Secret Superstar. She then sent shock waves across the nation when she announced her decision to quit the showbiz when she was being touted as the next superstar of Btown.
But most recently, Zaira Wasim hit the headlines after she took to her Twitter handle to share a post on the recent Locust attacks. It all began when Zaira choose to quote a verse from the Holy Quran to justify the Locust attacks.
Taking to her official Twitter handle, Zaira Wasim tweeted, “So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood: Signs openly self-explained: but they were steeped in arrogance- a people gave to sin – Qur’an 7:133.” However, her tweet attracted immense backlash, which eventually made Wasim delete her social media handle.

However, it’s just been a day and Zaira Wasim is back on Twitter. While a certain user asked her what’s the point of leaving for just a day, the budding actress said that she is human too. The Sky Is Pink actress’ justification Tweet read, “Because I’m just a human, like everyone else, who’s allowed to take a break from everything whenever the noise inside my head or around me reaches it’s peak :)”.

However, there was also a certain section of the society that supported Zaira Wasim and stated that there was nothing wrong in her tweet. Soon her fans began trending #IStandWithZaira in her support and defended her online.
Meanwhile, it may be recalled that the National Award Winning actress Zaira Wasim announced her disassociation with the film industry. Citing religious beliefs, Wasim had said that he has been trying to live as a person she never was and as a result, she would now choose to stay away from the limelight.
