The T-Series rendition of A.R Rahman’s loved song Masakali, titled Masakali 2.0 had stirred a huge controversy. Starring Sidharth Malhotra-Tara Sutaria and sung by Tulsi Kumar, Sachet Tondon – the song received a lot of backlash. It was even called out for ruining the gem of a song.
After everyone from the original makers including A R Rahman, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Prasoon Joshi reacted, it is now Tulsi Kumar has opened up about Masakali 2.0. The singer said that it is a personal choice and it is not just her who has helmed the song.
In an interview with Bollywood Life, Tulsi Kumar said, “Firstly, I’m not the only singer in that song (Masakali 2.0). My male singer (Sachet Tandon) is also with me. Now, you have to understand that whatever work you do, whatever song you create, it’s not possible that everyone will always like it, everybody has their personal choice.”

“But just like with every song, we had put in a lot of effort to make this song, too. Of course, recreations are handled very sensitively because, after all, they are recreations of iconic songs,” added Tulsi Kumar.
Calling the backlash a subjective opinion that people are open to have about any piece of content, Tulsi said that she has done a lot of work in her career so far to prove that she can back some hit numbers.
Talking about if she will sing a remix in the future, Tulsi Kumar said, “I have always said that I am an artist and I am here to entertain my audience and whatever it takes to entertain them, I’ll be a part of that.”
