Even while Nawazuddin Siddiqui is garnering praise for his recent Netflix release Raat Akeli Hai, the 46-year-old actor is already in the process of green lighting his future projects. While the fans enjoy watching him on the big screen, he is also a name to reckon with in the OTT space, and that’s exactly what he has signed next.
Nawazuddin has signed a political-crime drama which will be directed by Aditya Datt. The filmmaker’s last directorial was the Vidyut Jammwal starrer Commando 3. He has also helmed films like Table No. 21 and Aashiq Banaya Aapne. In the online space, Aditya has earlier directed the 2018 web series, Karenjit Kaur – the untold story of Sunny Leone.
“It’s a very intriguing story which will be produced by T-Series and streamed on Hotstar. Nawaz bhai (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) has liked the script and has given a go ahead last week, however he is yet to sign on the dotted line. This project will also mark T-Series’ foray into producing original content for OTT platforms. Once the signing formalities are done, Aditya Datt will immediately start the pre-production work,” informs a source close to the development.

After playing Ganesh Gaitonde in Sacred Games, we wonder what Nawazuddin Siddiqui will play in this as yet untitled political-crime drama. However, the source further adds that the actor is quite excited to play this part, and will start his prep closer to the shooting date.
Meanwhile, Siddiqui will next be seen in his brother Shamas Siddiqui’s directorial debut Bole Chudiyan, and in internationally renowned filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, No Land’s Man.
