Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are certainly one of those few power couples in Bollywood who make heads turn where ever they go. Not just their class and suave but also the couple’s love story is one of Bollywood’s most discussed stories. While King Khan is the romance king of Bollywood his heart is ruled by wife Gauri.

Shah Rukh Khan has on numerous occasions admitted that there is nothing more important in his life than Gauri Khan. But do you know there was a point in their relationship when Gauri has walked away from Khan owing to his over possessiveness? Yes, that had happened.

During an interview with Simi Grewal on Rendezvous With Simi Garewal in 1997, Gauri Khan was asked if Shah Rukh Khan was the possessive kinds. What Gauri said has literally blown our minds. The lady said that while Shah Rukh was always very protective about her, he became overbearing after a point. Gauri said, “It was possessiveness. It has turned to protectiveness. He was disgustingly possessive, he was sick. He wouldn’t let me wear a white shirt because he thought that it was transparent. It was a kink in the mind, I think.”

Known for being the chivalrous gentleman that he is, Shah Rukh Khan too agreed with his wife’s thoughts. Opening up about that phase with Gauri Khan, SRK told Simi that he was “downright vulgar” during those days. “I knew her but nobody knew that I knew her, so there was this whole feeling of lack of ownership. Whether it’s a man or a woman, I think both of them want to have it. So one just felt like…somehow to control, and I had become very cheap.”

Now that certainly was an explosive admission. The couple is now however happily married since 1991 after a courtship of 6 years! Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are parents to 3 kids, Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan.
